About the event

Taranaki Medical Foundation 60th Anniversary Event

Here in Taranaki, women are shaping the future of health — leading hospitals, strengthening rural communities, and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

As part of the Taranaki Medical Foundation’s 60th Anniversary celebrations, this special afternoon gathering brings together three remarkable wāhine whose leadership spans paediatrics, rural medicine, and surgery.

Through personal stories and shared reflections, our speakers will explore the courage, resilience, and commitment required to lead in medicine — while remaining deeply connected to community, whānau, and purpose.

The afternoon will include keynote reflections, individual speaker presentations, a moderated panel discussion, and opportunities for audience participation.
